Refund a payment processed by Paypal

Refund a payment processed by Paypal

Issuing a full or partial refund for a payment made with Paypal requires you to have access to your Paypal account. You can refund both Paypal account payments and card payments processed through Paypal.

Go to the Orders page by clicking on [Orders]:

Find the order you want to change and click on [Edit] to edit it:

Copy the 'Payment Id':

Login your Paypal account and click on the [Activity] option found in the horizontal menu at the top of the page:

On the top right of the page, you will find a search box. Change the search criteria to 'Transaction iD':

Paste the 'Payment Id' you had copied earlier and click on the magnifying glass icon:

On the results page, you will find the related payment entry and on the same line a list of options; select 'Refund':

On the next page, you can specify the refund amount in case you want to issue a partial refund instead of a full one (optionally, you can enter the order number in the 'Invoice number' field and even a message to your customer in the 'Note to buyer' field):

Click on the [Continue] button when you are ready to issue the refund:
